Whether a business builds out its own cloud or buys cloud services from someone else, they need to be sure the end results are optimized. Cloud technology and service providers such as EMC, IBM, VMware and Microsoft continue to maintain technology focus and so come up with training and certification programs to build the skills base necessary to successfully deploy their specific technology platforms and offerings. However, these efforts are focused on developing technical skills, rather than on process integration and building ITSM skills. This paper illustrates with the help of a sample story card how enterprises can apply ITIL 2011 to improve their readiness for cloud adoption.
